Itinerary

1. DAY 01: TEMPLE OF THE MOON – INKILLTAMBO

   We start the hike from the heart of Cusco, the Plaza de Armas, passing through the streets of Hatun Rumiyoc, where we can appreciate the 12-angle stone and the fine masonry of Inca architecture. We continue uphill through the San Blas neighborhood, reaching the Church of San Blas and its picturesque streets, and then proceed to the neighborhood of San Cristóbal. From there, we enter the sacred space of the Qenqo Forest, passing through sacred sites of the Inca era.

   We then continue the hike towards the Temple of the Moon, where we will observe the Qhapaq Ñan, which was the most important infrastructure of the Inca culture. We will walk along this marvelous Inca Trail, encountering canals, bridges, and rivers that were channeled during the Inca era. We continue through a native forest of Queñuales, passing by the Salineras River and observing agricultural areas of the Andean region, until we finally reach the Inkilltambo Archaeological Site. After the guided tour, we will have our picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we continue the hike along an Inca Trail that will take us to the Huayracmachay area, where transportation will be waiting to take us back to the respective hotel.
