Itinerary
DAY 01: CORAO – PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO
We depart from the city of Cusco at 7:30 a.m. towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will visit artisan markets, enjoy the viewpoint of the Sacred Valley, and explore the archaeological site of Pisac. We will continue our journey in a tourist transport, passing through the towns of Colla, Lamay, Calca, Yucay, and Urubamba (where we will have a tourist lunch). After lunch, we head to the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo.
We will visit the archaeological site, and once the visit is finished, we will leave the transport and proceed to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we will board the train in the evening for an average journey of 1 hour and 45 minutes to the town of Machu Picchu. A transfer will pick you up in Machu Picchu Pueblo and take you to your respective hotel.
DAY 2: VISIT TO THE MACHU PICCHU CITADEL
After breakfast, we will take the Consettur bus according to the scheduled entrance time to the Machu Picchu Citadel. We will have a 2-hour guided tour of the archaeological site during which you will learn about the Inca culture and visit the areas designated by the state. It is recommended to follow routes 1, 2, and 3 (purchase according to space availability).
If you intend to visit the Huayna Picchu mountain, it is advisable to make an advance reservation as spaces are limited. The visit to Huayna Picchu will be self-guided for climbing the mountain. Once coordinated and after finishing your visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel, we will take the Consettur bus and have lunch in Machu Picchu Pueblo (lunch at your own expense). In the afternoon, we will board the train at the Ollantaytambo station for the return journey.
In Ollantaytambo, a transfer will be waiting to take us back to Cusco by bus.</p>
