Itinerary

  1. DAY 01: CHACHABAMBA - WIÑAYWAYNA - SUN GATE

    Hotel pick-up at approximately 4:00 a.m. and transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo. We will travel by train to the starting point of the hike, known as Km. 104 of the train tracks (passport control). From there, we will begin the hike, which takes about 3 hours and passes through Chachabamba, offering panoramic views of the Urubamba River.

    We continue ascending to the spectacular Waterfalls until we reach the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2,650 meters above sea level), where we can have lunch. We then continue the hike for about 2 hours to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) – Machu Picchu. After observing the flora and fauna, we descend to the guardian’s house to take the best photographs of Machu Picchu.

    We will then take a tourist bus down to Machu Picchu Pueblo. Accommodation in a hotel with a private bathroom and dinner at a restaurant in Machu Picchu Pueblo.

  2. DAY 02: MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO - MACHU PICCHU CITADEL

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the bus from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the Machu Picchu Citadel. There, we will have a 2-hour guided tour within the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where you will learn about the Inca culture and visit the areas designated by the state (visiting hours are open).

    If you intend to visit the Huayna Picchu mountain, a new entrance ticket must be purchased, and reservations must be made in advance, subject to availability and regulations set by the state. The visit to Huayna Picchu will be self-guided.

    After coordinating and completing your visit to Machu Picchu Citadel, we will take the bus back down and have lunch in Machu Picchu Pueblo (lunch is not included). In the afternoon, we will board the train for the return journey to Ollantaytambo.
