Wuqrapukara 01 Day

Very early around 3:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to head towards the starting point of our hike, a 2.5-hour drive to the province of Acomayo, where we will enjoy the Four Lakes Circuit of Acomayo. We continue for another 30 minutes to Laguna Qenterococha (4,330 m / 14,138 ft) where we will have a delicious breakfast. After our breakfast, we will begin our hike towards the Waqrapukara complex. Along the hike, we will be able to identify the flora and wildlife of the area.

Once we reach the first viewpoint of Waqrapukara, we will take a break and then continue until we reach our destination. Finally, we will arrive at this incredible place, where we will rest and explore the archaeological site with our guide who will provide us with all the detailed information. You will also have free time to explore and take photos. Afterwards, we will start walking back. But we will take a different, easier path that also offers different viewpoints of the Apurimac Canyon. We will return to the starting point of the trail around 1:40 pm, where our private transportation will be waiting for us, and we will also have lunch. We will return to Cusco around 7:00 pm. Travelers undertaking the Waqrapukara trip should be in good physical condition and well acclimatized to the altitude.
