Itinerary

  1. DAY 01: PIURAY

    Amazing Adventures begins this program with the group’s hotel pick-up and transfer to the bus station. We will start a hike from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco to Lake Piuray. Explore the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and enjoy a countryside lunch on the Senqa mountain on the way to the Piuray camp.

  2. DAY 02: HUCHUYQOSQO

    We start early in the morning by Lake Piuray, passing through the village of Tauca to begin the hike to Huchuyqosqo. After a picnic lunch and exploring the archaeological site of Huchuyqosqo, end the day with a downhill hike to the town of Lamay where we will rest in a hotel. Dinner in the evening.

  3. DAY 03: PISAQ

    We start a new day to continue towards the Pisaq cemetery, where we will climb high mountains with spectacular views until we reach the archaeological site of Pisaq. After a guided exploration of the site, we will continue hiking to the Pisaq Archaeological Group. Upon arrival, the support staff will be waiting with a traditional Pachamanca dinner.

  4. DAY 04: CANCHA CANCHA

    After an early breakfast, we depart from Lamay by transportation to the town of Huaran in the Sacred Valley, from where we will begin the hike to the village of Cancha Cancha along a traditional Inca trail. Trip briefing and dinner around the campfire.

  5. DAY 05: QUISWARANI

    Start the day with a hearty breakfast at the Cancha Cancha campsite to prepare for the morning hike to the Pachacuteq Pass. After a picnic lunch at the pass, we will continue to the native village of Quiswarani. Trip briefing and dinner around the campfire.

  6. DAY 06: HUACAHUASI

    After breakfast, we will embark on a morning hike to Sonqococha Lake, with spectacular panoramic views of the Andean mountain range, followed by a picnic lunch before continuing to Quelquena. After a short rest, embark on the last hike of the day to the Huacahuasi camp.

  7. DAY 07: PATACANCHA

    We start the day with a visit to the town of Huacahuasi, passing through the Huacahuasi Pass with panoramic views of the flora and fauna typical of the highland paramo. We then descend along an Inca trail to the town of Patacancha – Willoc, with the possibility of visiting Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo where we will rest in a hotel. Dinner in the town of Ollantaytambo.

  8. DAY 08: INCA TRAIL - WIÑAYWAYNA - INTI PUNKU

    We continue our journey and head to the train station in Ollantaytambo. We will take a train to Km. 104 of the railway (passport control), where we will begin a 3-hour hike passing through Chachabamba, with panoramic views of the Urubamba River, ascending to the spectacular Agua Falls, and finally reaching the Wiñaywayna Archaeological Group (2,650 meters above sea level) where we will have lunch.

    We will then continue the hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) – Machu Picchu for about 2 hours. After observing the flora and fauna, we descend to the guardian’s house to take the best photographs of Machu Picchu. Continuing our excursion, we will descend by bus to the town of Machu Picchu. Accommodation in a hotel with a private bathroom, dinner at a restaurant in Machu Picchu Pueblo.

  9. DAY 09: MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO - MACHU PICCHU CITADEL

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the bus from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the Machu Picchu Citadel, where we will have a 2-hour guided tour within the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. During the tour, you will learn about the Inca culture and visit the designated areas by the state (visiting hours are open).

    If you intend to visit the Huayna Picchu mountain (requires a separate entrance ticket and advanced reservation according to availability, designated by the state), you will have the opportunity to climb the Huayna Picchu mountain on your own.

    Once coordinated and after finishing your visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel, we will take the bus back down to have lunch in Machu Picchu Pueblo (on your own). In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
