Itinerary

  1. Day 01: Arrival in Lima – Cusco

    Upon your arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, please remain at the airport to board your connecting flight to the city of Cusco.

    At Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco, a representative and private transportation will be waiting to take you to your hotel. At 09:00 a.m., enjoy a guided tour through the charming and magical city of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. Visit the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Temple of Coricancha, one of the most important temples in Inca times.

    Then, explore Cusco’s main streets, including the famous Twelve-Angled Stone Street, admire the city’s ancestral urban design, and visit the Main Square (Plaza de Armas).

    The afternoon is free to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

  2. DAY 02: Sacred Valley – Pisaq & Ollantaytambo

    07:00AM

    A representative and private transport will pick you up from your hotel to begin your journey through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas.

    Our first stops will be Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, living examples of native Andean culture. In Ollantaytambo, admire its fine masonry and megalithic stonework, influenced by pre-Inca cultures such as Tiwanaku.

    We will then visit a traditional corn beer brewery (chichería) in Yanahuara, where you will have the chance to taste local corn beer and enjoy a box lunch featuring typical regional dishes. Afterwards, receive a briefing about the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

    The journey continues through picturesque villages such as Urubamba, Lamay, Calca, and Qoya, until we arrive at Pisaq. There, enjoy a hike through the Temple of the Sun and the impressive Inca terraces, masterpieces of ancient engineering.

    On our way down to the village, we’ll stop by a colonial-era oven where you can taste delicious empanadas made with quinoa flour and other local ingredients.

    Return to Cusco around 7:00 p.m.

  3. Day 03: Maras – Moray – Chinchero

    07:30 a.m.

    Today, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to begin your excursion to the archaeological sites of Maras and Moray.

    At Moray, marvel at its enigmatic circular terraces, ingeniously designed to create different microclimates, which the Incas used as an agricultural laboratory to experiment with various crops.

    Then, visit Maras, famous for its impressive salt mines, a dazzling landscape of thousands of salt pools that have been in use since pre-Columbian times and continue to operate today through traditional methods.

  4. Day 04: Inca Trail – km 82, Salapunku, Hatunchaka

    We begin our adventure with a transfer from your hotel to the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will stop to use the restrooms, have breakfast, and/or purchase any last-minute items needed for the Inca Trail.

    The journey continues to Km 82, the starting point of our trek. Here, we will visit the Interpretation Center of the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary before setting out on the trail toward the archaeological sites of Salapunku and Qanabamba. Along the way, you will witness remarkable examples of Inca engineering surrounded by breathtaking landscapes alongside the majestic Wilkarakay and the Willcamayu River (Sacred River).

    Enjoy a packed lunch en route before passing through the Km 88 checkpoint, continuing on to the impressive archaeological complex of Llactapata.

    We will finish the day’s hike in the afternoon, setting up our campsite at Tarayoc village, where you’ll be welcomed with afternoon tea and dinner under the stars.

  5. Day 05: Wayllabamba – Llulluchapampa – Pacaymayu

    We begin a new day with an early wake-up tea, followed by breakfast to prepare for another beautiful stretch of the Inca Trail.

    Our hike starts as we pass through the small villages of Hatunchaca and Wayllabamba, then enter a magnificent native forest filled with polylepis, queuñas, and chachacomos — trees typical of the inter-Andean valleys.

    Enjoy lunch at Yunca Chimpa, surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, continue your ascent toward the Llulluchapampa campsite, a perfect place to rest and enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery.

    At night, if the sky is clear, you’ll have the unforgettable opportunity to witness the Milky Way in all its splendor. End the day with afternoon tea and dinner before resting under the Andean stars.

  6. Day 06: Runkurakay – Sayacmarca – Phuyupatamarca

    We start the day early with breakfast before beginning one of the most challenging and rewarding sections of the Inca Trail. Our goal is to reach the trail’s highest point: the Warmiwañusca Pass (Dead Woman’s Pass) at 4,215 meters above sea level (13,828 ft).

    After celebrating this achievement, we descend into the Pacaymayu Valley, where we will enjoy lunch and have access to public restrooms.

    Following a short rest, the hike continues with an ascent to the archaeological site of Runkurakay and then to the Runkurakay Pass, offering incredible panoramic views.

    We will then descend toward the archaeological complex of Sayacmarca, passing through Chaquicocha and along an impressive Inca stone trail, showcasing exquisite masonry and surrounded by the lush flora and fauna of the high jungle.

    Our camp for the night will be set at Phuyupatamarca (2,750 m / 9,022 ft), known as “the town above the clouds.” From here, enjoy breathtaking views of two valleys. In the evening, relax with afternoon tea and dinner before resting.

  7. Day 07: Wiñaywayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu

    Circuit 01 Panoramic View) – Machu Picchu Town

    Before breakfast, enjoy an incredible view of the Salkantay snow-capped peak, one of the sacred mountains of the Andes. After a hearty breakfast overlooking the majestic mountain range, we begin our descent toward the archaeological site of Intipata, following spectacular Inca stairways surrounded by lush flora and fauna.

    We then arrive at Wiñaywayna, where we will have lunch and a short rest before continuing the final stretch of the Inca Trail.

    In the afternoon, we hike for about two hours until reaching the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) — the first breathtaking viewpoint of the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu.

    From here, we descend to the Guardian’s House, a perfect spot for panoramic photographs of the citadel, before taking the bus down to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

  8. Day 08: Visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel

    Circuit 03 + Huayna Picchu Mountain – Tourist Dinner

    After breakfast, we will take the bus up to Machu Picchu and proceed through the entrance control to begin the guided tour of this Wonder of the World.

    In the afternoon, return to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes) and enjoy a special tourist dinner to celebrate the end of your unforgettable journey along the Inca Trail.

  9. Day 09: Return to Cusco

     Expedition or Vistadome Observatory Train

    In the morning, board the Expedition or Vistadome Observatory Train for your return journey to Ollantaytambo. Enjoy the scenic ride through the Sacred Valley as you bid farewell to the magnificent landscapes of Machu Picchu.

    Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will be transferred by private bus back to Cusco, where our services come to an end.

  10. Day 10: Rainbow Mountain

    06:00AM

    The program begins with an early morning transfer from your hotel. We will travel for approximately 2 hours until reaching the town of Cusipata, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast.

    Afterward, we continue our journey to the trailhead checkpoint, where your guide will provide general instructions for the ascent to Rainbow Mountain. Along the way, you will have the option to rent a horse (direct payment) to make the climb easier.

    Once at the summit of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), you will have time to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views and take unforgettable photographs of this natural wonder, famous for its striking multicolored slopes.

    After the visit, we return to the bus station as indicated by the guide, and continue our journey back, stopping en route to enjoy a hearty lunch before returning to the city of Cusco.

    Additional recommendations: bring warm clothing, gloves, caps, a hat, a rain poncho, etc.

  11. Day 11: Check-Out – Airport Transfer

    After breakfast, check out from your hotel at the scheduled time.
    Our team will provide your transfer to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco for your departing flight.
